Since I haven't been diligent about recording memories, I figured it would be okay if I recalled just a few of the above.
.
I was lucky enough to be the one to give you a bath tonight. Afterwards, I had the pleasure of chasing your naked bottom all over the bedroom. For some reason, you didn't want to get dressed! Every mother has these stories and now I'm lucky enough to have one as well! I remembered something that your Meme once said about your Aunt Claire when she was just a few years old and streaking around the house... "She'll only be young enough to get away with running around naked once." So, I let you. You are so adorable. Your naked little bottom jumping up and down on the bed. You are just as silly as your Aunt Claire was! You happen to have the exact same laugh too, by the way. And I'm sure Mimi can recount stories of Daddy I'm sure. I remember this one specifically, where apparently he would take off ALL of his clothes in the front yard and streak around until someone caught him!
.
I guess you come by nudity naturally. But then again, is there any other way?
.
I'm glad I have this one to remember.

Mommy Loves You

Okay okay. So one thing that you should know is that up until now I have fought the urge to create a blog dedicated to my gushing about how awesome you are all of the time! I fought the urge not because the aforementioned things were not worth bragging about, but because I felt it a bit pretentious to assume that other people would care to read about the day to day happenings of our family and actually care.

So what changed my mind? I was telling my coworkers yet another story about how awesome you are and something you did that was so funny and adorable and they mentioned that I should have gotten the event on camera. "Ah! If only!" I replied. As you well know, we don't own a video camera. Your childhood will be remembered much in the same way as your father and I's childhoods were... via stories and photographs.

But wait! Now I understand. Why not write to you? Tell you of the things that we would have just happened to conjur up in a story 10, 20, 30 years from now?

I'm not promising that I will be able to write to you every day, but I can say that atleast more than once a month I will share some snippit of your childhood with you. Most likely the stories will be told much in the same way that they are mentioned to others, quickly and dramatically.

I hope you atleast appreciate the effort. And I hope that whenever I am old and I cannot remember that you will read to me so that I can chase the memories through my old brain. I hope to never have anything less than one last memory of you. xoxo
